This stunning illustration is an original artwork by Laura Carling, designed for the poignant children’s picture book, The Promise, written by Nicola Davies. The book tells the story of a thief who steals an old woman’s handbag which is full of acorns. The thief makes a promise to plant them all, beginning a surprising journey towards changing the world, one acorn at a time. Delivered in an A195 profile frame, hand painted by Laura herself, this artwork is created in coloured pencil, watercolour and acrylic showing the thief standing in the space in the centre of a busy ringroad.
