This pencil and watercolour illustration is an original artwork taken from the gorgeous picture book, The King of Tiny Things, by Jeanne Willis and illustrated by Gwen Millward. The book tells the story of two little girls who decide to camp out in their grandparents’ garden for the night, where they encounter the King of Tiny Things. This illustration, which was digitally changed for the book by the publishers, shows one of the girls looking over the still body of the tiny king.
